Winter Season - Rental & Retail Shop Supervisor

Job Description

  • Overseeing all aspects of the day to day operations of the Rental, Retail and Valet operations of one of the YamaSport shops.
  • Providing genuine, friendly and professional advice to guests with the aim of providing them with a seamless, enjoyable holiday experience.
  • Leading and directing your team to ensure all operational aspects are covered, in conjunction with YamaSport management.
  • Training seasonal staff on rental and retail products, procedures and guest services.
  • Overseeing the front desk processes, including greeting and signing in of rental guests, cash, credit card and pre-booked account transactions, and daily balancing of tills.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of the upcoming pre-booked rentals, and preparing for busy periods.
  • Helping to prepare weekly and daily rosters for your staff team.
  • Ensure shop opening and closing procedures are carried out.
  • Dealing with any customer service issues that may arise, referring them to management if required.
  • Providing guests with accurate information on the resort area and where to book other services such as ski school and guiding services.
  • Liaise with our other shops, hotels, ski valets and accommodation providers regarding rental deliveries and returns, and overdue rentals.
  • Liaise with stores person / driver to ensure the rental equipment is restocked regularly to provide a full selection for guests.
  • Performing rental technician and cashiering duties as required.
  • Keeping all areas of operation clean, tidy and organised.
  • Other general tasks related to a snow resort rental business.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in rental and retail operations, ideally with staff supervisory or management experience.
  • Passionate about snow sports and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm.
  • Knowledgeable about skis and boards and snow equipment in general.
  • A customer service star with endless patience.
  • Genuinely friendly and professional with great communication skills.
  • Enjoy leading a tight-knit team to achieve departmental and company goals in a busy work environment.
  • Display the highest professional integrity.
  • Capable of making decisions and working autonomously, while also working to achieve department and company goals in conjunction with management.
  • Have a strong command of English - the ability to speak a second language such as Mandarin, Cantonese or Japanese would be a great plus but not essential.

Previous experience working as a rental shop supervisor or manager is highly regarded – but if you have the above qualities and are ready to step up to a supervisory role, we welcome your application.

Job Particulars

Pay Rate

  • ¥1,900 - ¥2,150 per hour
  • 25% overtime allowance for hours worked above prescribed working hours for the month.

Employment Period

  • 11 Nov 2024 - 7 Apr 2025
  • Fully paid training at the start of the season.

Hours

  • Generally 5 days per week, around 40 hours per week.
  • Hours will vary through the season depending on business levels with less hours at the start and end of the season (more riding time!) and occasional overtime during peak periods.
